Next week, a municipal zoning hearing board will rule on a variance aimed at subdividing nearly 600 acres of the historic Sinking Springs Farm in Manchester Township.
Sinking Springs Farm LP, in care of Susquehanna Real Estate in York and Louis Appell Jr., is seeking a special exception that would allow it to subdivide the 590.2-acre property into 11 lots, according to township documents.
If approved, six of the 11 lots would be 10 acres each, allowing for one home apiece, said Stewart S. Olewiler, the township’s zoning officer. The remaining five lots will remain as farmland
The farm is bordered by Church Road, Sinking Springs Lane, North George Street, Locust Lane.
